CoffeeCo was established in 1983 as one of the first coffee shops in the Lancaster are. Over the years the business has changed but the one constant has always been the incredible coffee.

The current owners, John and Heidi Smucker, are the fourth owners of CoffeeCo. They purchased the business in 2015 with their partners at the time and have worked to build on the great foundation that was built by the previous owners. John and Heidi have four daughters and two sons-in-law and enjoy spending time with them when not working to provide great food and coffee for their guests.

We have a mission is to create a stress-free environment for our guests. We want them to leave better than when they walked inside our doors and with a reason to come back. We are a place of community that aims for excellence and friendliness.

Meet our Managers

Cody Yoder – CoffeeCo Office

As the esteemed Director of Operations at CoffeeCo, Cody boasts an impressive 20+ year journey within the company. Starting when it was a single shop family business, he worked hard to help evolve it into a thriving enterprise with enduring familial roots.

Cody takes pride in the lasting relationships forged within and beyond the walls of CoffeeCo. Outside the realm of operations, he finds solace and joy in the simple pleasures of spending quality time with his wife and children, engaging in any activity that brings the family together.

While it is challenging to single out a favorite, Cody frequently indulges in the 30 sandwich for lunch and the street corn hash for breakfast.

James Gordan - New Holland

James has become an indispensable member of the team since joining in 2023. Passionate about fostering connections, James takes delight in building friendships with regulars and cherishes the camaraderie within the team.

Beyond the restaurant, James finds joy in the company of his wife and son, indulging in outdoor activities and sharing the love for music.

He declares the breakfast burrito as his favorite item on the menu.

Dawn Plastid – Lancaster

Dawn stands as a seasoned member of the CoffeeCo team, joining us in 2018. The heart of her enjoyment lies in the camaraderie shared with her dedicated staff.

Beyond the coffee beans and brewing, Dawn finds fulfillment in quality family time outside of work.

Dawn has a penchant for the 3-star breakfast, marking it as her all-time favorite item on the menu.

Preston Hunter – Landisville

Preston began working at CoffeeCo in 2022 and has been an integral part of CoffeeCo's team ever since. Originating as a part-time dishwasher during his college years, he has evolved within the company, contributing to the vibrant atmosphere in our stores.

Outside of work, Preston cherishes moments spent with friends and family, engaging in activities such as hiking, fishing, and any pursuit that involves being surrounded by the people they love. A connoisseur of CoffeeCo's offerings, Preston has a particular fondness for the street corn hash, making it his favorite menu item.

Kylie Hodge – Lititz

Kylie initially joined the team as a full-time barista in 2022, only to ascend swiftly into a management role.

Fueled by a passion for cultivating cohesive teams and fostering meaningful connections with customers, Kylie finds fulfillment in the vibrant community created within Coffee Co's walls.

Beyond the aromatic world of coffee, she channels her love for culinary arts into cooking healthy meals and shares quality moments with her furry companions. A culinary preference emerges with the BLT accompanied by a side of greens and house dressing, while Kylie also delights in the simple joy of sharing house made muffins with coworkers.
